Privacy Policy
Introduction
Reveal Reach (also referred to as "Reveal Ad Library Reach & estimate Adspend", published at transparencyads.com) is a Chrome extension designed to assist advertisers and marketers in auditing public advertising metrics. We are fully committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your peace of mind while using our tool. This policy explicitly explains what data we handle and highlights our secure, zero-collection operational architecture for the features that do not require an account.
Data We Collect
Reveal Reach is designed with privacy in mind, while offering premium features that require user authentication. Here is exactly how we handle your data:
- Authentication & Account Data: To provide access to our features and manage usage limits, we require user registration using an email address and password. This information is securely authenticated and stored using Google Firebase.
- Usage Limits: We record the number of analyses you perform using Firebase Firestore to enforce the limits of our free plan.
- Payment Information: When you subscribe to Premium, we store a Stripe customer identifier and subscription identifier in our database to manage your subscription status. We do not store credit card numbers or billing details — these are handled entirely by Stripe.
- Local Settings: The extension stores your custom CPM and Frequency settings locally in your web browser using Chrome's native
chrome.storage.localAPI. These specific settings never leave your device. - We do not collect IP addresses, browser history records, or utilize any hidden personal identifier trackers.
EU Reach Data
The extension acts as a client-side parser reading publicly available EU advertising transparency data directly from the document object model (DOM) of the Meta Ads Library page (facebook.com/ads/library).
This reach information is generated and published publicly by Meta in compliance with European regulatory disclosures (Digital Services Act). Reveal Reach only visualizes, computes spend, and sorts these local data points. We do not store, transmit, process, or aggregate this data on any server.
Website Analytics
Our website (transparencyads.com) may use basic, privacy-respecting server-side analytics. This logging does not utilize tracking cookies, does not build user fingerprint profiles, and is solely used to monitor aggregate web traffic levels. No personally identifiable details are collected.
Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or share any of your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The extension communicates with the following third-party processors:
- Google Firebase: Used for user authentication (email/password) and Firestore to record analysis usage counts and subscription status. Google processes this data on our behalf under Google's Data Processing and Security Terms (available at cloud.google.com/terms/data-processing-addendum).
- Stripe: Used to process subscription payments securely. When you click to upgrade, your Firebase User ID (UID) is passed to Stripe as a
client_reference_idURL parameter to link your payment to your account. We do not store or transmit credit card numbers — these are handled exclusively by Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
No Meta Ad Library data parsed by the extension is ever transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
Cookies
The Reveal Reach extension does not use tracking cookies or session identifiers. Similarly, our marketing landing pages do not install tracking scripts, retargeting pixels, or advertising cookies.
Children's Privacy
Reveal Reach is developed as a utility system for digital advertisers and professional agencies. We do not knowingly target or interact with children under the age of 13.
Data Deletion & GDPR Rights
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have specific rights regarding your personal data (such as your email address). You have the right to request access to, correction of, or permanent deletion of your account and associated data ("Right to be Forgotten"). You can exercise these rights at any time by emailing us at support@transparencyads.com.
Data Retention
Your account data (email address, analysis count, subscription status) is retained for as long as your account exists and is active. If you request account deletion, all associated personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days of the request.
Local settings stored via chrome.storage.local (CPM, frequency preferences) are automatically removed when you uninstall the extension. Session-level ad data parsed during analysis is never persisted and is discarded when you close the browser tab.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- Contractual Necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): To create and manage your account, enforce usage limits, and process subscription payments through Stripe.
- Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): To maintain the security and integrity of our service, and to prevent abuse of the free analysis limits.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this policy to reflect modifications in how Chrome extensions are regulated or how local browser APIs operate. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will always indicate the date of the latest iteration.
